If you have glass and mirrors in your house you are going to want to have this Streak-Free Glass Cleaner Recipe with Essential Oils on hand!

Grab a glass bottle, the old spray nozzle of an empty bottle and meet me in the kitchen for this Streak-Free Glass Cleaner Recipe. Sparkling windows, oven doors, and bathroom mirrors are just a few steps away! I love making my own cleaning products because the gentler ingredients are much safer for my family and creating my own essential oil combos has a much more pleasant scent than the usual death by artificial lemon smell!   Use indoors or out for streak-free glass.

Streak Free Glass Cleaner Recipe with Essential Oils

Supplies:

  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup white vinegar
  • ½ cup rubbing alcohol
  • ¼ teaspoon Dawn dish soap
  • 8 drops lavender essential oil
  • 4 drops lemon essential oil
  • 16-ounce glass bottle

Glass bottles are the best to use for homemade cleaning products that are made with essential oils, as the oils can eat away at your plastic and I also opt for the colored glass bottles because sunlight can reduce the effectiveness of your essential oils (that’s why they come in the dark amber bottles).

Directions:

Carefully add all ingredients to your bottle, leaving the Dawn for last to avoid bubbling, use a funnel if you like or you can walk on the wild side and free pour like me if you feel brave.homemade glass and window cleaner

Gently swirl ingredients and replace spray nozzle.

Spray windows and mirrors and wipe clean with paper towels, newspaper, or microfiber cloths.

Streak-Free Glass Cleaning Tips

Use the tips below to ensure you have clean, clear, and streak-free windows.

  • If you want to grab some microfiber cloths to use along with your Streak-Free Glass Cleaner be sure not to use fabric softener on them when you toss them in the wash or they will not absorb moisture as well.
  • Clean your exterior windows when early in the morning before it gets hot. The sun can dry up the cleaner too quickly and leave streaks.
  • Use a squeegee for large windows.
  • Clean windows from top to bottom.
  • Clean the corners of your windows out with cotton swabs, they help whisk away the dirt that accrues in the small spaces.
  • To clean electronics glass spray cleaner onto your cloth and then clean the glass, don’t spray directly on them.
