If you are looking for a quick and easy slime that is made from simple ingredients This Natural Easter Slime recipe only uses 2 ingredients and is about as easy as you can get.
I added my batch of Natural Easter Slime Recipe to a giant Easter egg and added some cutters and molds to give the kids more play time with it.
This Orange Easter Slime is made with 2 simple ingredients and in just 5 minutes, this recipe gives you a super slippery but not sticky slime that they will love!
How to Make Metamucil Slime
You can use name brand or the generic Metamucil but it must be Psyllium husk, don’t try it with Miralax or another polyethylene glycol, I tested them out and they don’t work the same way.
This Metamucil slime recipe does not use borax, contact solution, or glue. While you don’t want your child to eat this slime, it is taste-safe if made without the essential oil. If you think your child may try to taste it or eat a bite, leave out the essential oil.
I also tried naturally changing the color using mica powder but no matter what color I used it just turned the orange a muddy color, so I would stick with the orange!
Natural Easter Slime Recipe
You will need:
- 1 tablespoon Metamucil
- 1 cup of water
- 1 – 2 drops orange essential oil (optional)
Supplies:
- glass measuring cup
- whisk
- airtight container for storing slime
Directions:
- Place 1 cup of warm water in a large glass measuring cup.
- Stir in Metamucil until fully dissolved, use a whisk and be sure to mix it up well.
- Microwave mixture on high for 5 minutes, stopping about every minute and a half to give it a good stir. Keep an eye on it and be sure that it doesn’t overflow, a quick stir and a few seconds out of the microwave should cool it enough to make it go down.
- Once the five minutes up, remove from the microwave and stir it well, as you stir you will see the slime really begin to form and get take on the perfect slime texture.
- Your mixture will be very hot, allow to cool, to speed up the process pour it out onto your work surface and let it cool that way.
- While it has an orange smell to it already, it is not very strong, you can add a few drops of essential oil to make it stronger, just add a few drops to the slime and knead it in with your hands once cool enough to touch.
- Add items like cookie cutters, plastic eggs, molds, and other small toys to make it even more fun and add some holiday theme to the mix.
